About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will design, develop, integrate, and verify embedded software solutions. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with experts across hardware, systems, and FPGA engineering while tackling complex challenges in aerospace and defense. You’ll work with cutting-edge tools and languages like Rust, C++, and Python, and contribute to mission-critical projects in cryptography, networking protocols, embedded devices, DevSecOps, and command & control.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test embedded software solutions for innovative aerospace and defense products.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including hardware, systems, and FPGA engineers.
  • Solve complex problems in domains such as cryptography, waveform & networking protocols, and command & control.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle within an Agile team environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to implement and verify software solutions while meeting project milestones.
  • Expand technical expertise in embedded environments and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with C or C++.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued DoD Secret security clearance (active clearance preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge or experience in software development best practices.
  • Experience with cryptography and software security.
  • Familiarity with the Rust programming language.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $57,200 – $108,800 USD. The final offer considers factors such as experience, location, education, and key skills.
