Software Engineer I, Data Platform
Our client operates in the cybersecurity industry, providing AI-native, data-intensive cloud SaaS applications designed to prevent cybercrime. They address the challenge of delivering fast, reliable, and secure access to large datasets through their data platform team, which builds and maintains scalable storage systems and data processing infrastructure to support engineering and data science efforts.
About the role
This position focuses on contributing to the design, development, and operation of core data platform components that support data-heavy workloads. You will build tools and automations that simplify infrastructure operations and enable scalability, directly impacting the reliability and efficiency of the organization's data systems during a period of rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate core components of the data platform.
- Build tools and services to facilitate adoption and scaling of data systems.
- Automate infrastructure and operations to enhance reliability and performance.
- Apply advanced GenAI techniques to improve developer and operator experiences.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address scalability and reliability challenges.
- Own project delivery from inception to completion with guidance from senior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional software engineering experience, preferably in backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
- Strong fundamentals in software engineering including data structures, clean code, testing, and debugging.
- Interest in learning technologies such as AWS, Databricks, and data infrastructure components.
- Curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Redis, or RocksDB.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Exposure to large-scale or data-intensive systems.
Pay
Base salary range: $122,400 to $176,000 USD. Eligible for bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
