SEACORP is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance to work in Middletown, RI. This role involves collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to define, design, and integrate software capabilities into complex military systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist and participate in requirements, design, development, and testing of key features for the USS-DSW, including new work products or enhancements to existing applications and systems.
- Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
- Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
- Participate in daily scrums, 2-3 week sprints, demonstration, and retrospective ceremonies.
- Perform both front-end and back-end development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science.
- Preferred knowledge of C++, Java, Python, Atlassian Tool Suite, and Linux.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with others while handling independent tasks.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies quickly.
- U.S. Citizenship (required for employment).
Location & Travel
Newport, RI. Infrequent travel required (<3 times annually).
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Office and computer laboratory setting.
- Activities include sitting, standing, extended use of mouse and keyboard, and prolonged screen time.
- Infrequent lifting of items under 40 lbs.
- Movement within the office or between buildings.
- Generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonal variations in temperature and lighting.
