About the Team

Global E-commerce is a new and fast-growing business that aims at connecting all customers to excellent sellers and quality products on TikTok Shop, through E-commerce live-streaming, E-commerce short videos, and commodity recommendation. Our E-commerce Recommendation Infra team is responsible for building and optimizing the infrastructure for such recommendation systems, to provide the best experience for our users. We work closely with applied machine learning engineers and build scalable systems to support all kinds of innovative algorithms and large-scale models.

Responsibilities

• Build industry-leading globalized large-scale recommendation systems.
• Design and build high-performance systems and reliable data pipelines to support large-scale machine learning serving and training demands.
• Optimize and evolve the system continuously to support the skyrocketing increase in both user traffic and data volume.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions to address critical product challenges and improve recommendation performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong software development experience with C++, Java, or other programming languages.
• Good teamwork and communication skills, positive and optimistic attitude, and a strong sense of ownership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in at least one of the following areas: personalized recommendations, search engines, advertising, machine learning infrastructure, distributed storage systems, or big data frameworks.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $121,600 - $243,200 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package, which may also include discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
