Meet the Team
The Edge Processor team builds the critical software that collects, processes, transforms, and routes high-volume data right where it’s generated. Operating across cloud-native services and customer-managed environments, we prioritize performance, reliability, security, and operability at scale. Our work is at the heart of Cisco’s Data Fabric framework. By enabling sophisticated data management and observability at the edge, we power real-time threat detection, compliance monitoring, and operational intelligence across Cisco’s vast ecosystem of hardware, cloud, endpoints, and networks. When you join us, you will work with groundbreaking technology, demonstrating AI-powered capabilities like automated field extraction and self-healing pipelines. Your contributions will directly improve data quality, accelerate time-to-value, and drive the AI-powered insights that strengthen Cisco’s coordinated security and observability solutions.
About the role

Apply the full software development lifecycle to your projects, including requirements of analysis, develop, implementation, testing, code review, release, and documentation. Write clean, secure, and maintainable code with mentorship, add relevant tests, and evaluate changes for correctness, reliability, and performance. Perform debugging and solving throughout development, and participate in incident triage, post-incident learning, and supported on-call rotation.

- Relevant fields include: Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework, internship, or project experience in distributed systems, networking, operating systems, databases, streaming systems, or high-throughput data processing
- Exposure to containers, Kubernetes, public cloud platforms, CI/CD, or software deployed in customer-managed environments
- Experience investigating failures or measuring performance with logs, metrics, traces, or other observability signals, plus an interest in secure and serviceable production software
