About The Role The role owns features end-to-end across the stack - React and TypeScript on the frontend, Python or Go services behind REST and GraphQL APIs, and PostgreSQL data models underneath. You will ship user-facing products used by hundreds of thousands of customers, and be measured on what you deliver, not hours logged. The team is small and senior. The role requires someone who can take a vaguely specified problem, break it into a scoped plan, build it, and see it through deployment, monitoring, and iteration without hand-holding. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and ship full-stack features using TypeScript, React, Node.js or Python, and PostgreSQL - from technical spec through production releaseBuild and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs, focusing on correctness, latency, and clean versioning as the product scalesInstrument what you ship: logging, metrics, and tracing with Datadog or similar, so regressions are caught before users report themWrite integration and unit tests as a default practice, not an afterthought, and keep CI pipelines greenParticipate in architecture reviews and RFC-driven decision making; challenge designs constructively and document tradeoffsOwn on-call rotation participation with a follow-the-sun support model; run blameless postmortems when things breakCollaborate directly with product managers and designers to shape scope, flag risks early, and cut what does not need to exist What We Are Looking For 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful production work on both frontend and backendStrong TypeScript or JavaScript, plus proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, or Go)Hands-on experience with React and modern state management patterns; understanding of rendering performance fundamentalsSolid relational database skills: schema design, query optimization, and indexing in PostgreSQL or MySQLExperience deploying and operating services on AWS or GCP (Docker, Terraform, or comparable IaC is a plus)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; open-source contributions or shipped side projects are a plusBonus: Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS), GraphQL federation, or building design systems
