Software Engineer, Full Stack
Blissway Inc. · Denver, CO · 2 mo ago
Hybrid$135k–$180k/yrFull-time
About the role
You are building the platform that connects Blissway's deep-tech hardware to the drivers, partners, and government agencies we work with. That means owning both the internal systems that have to be right and the public surfaces that have to be trusted.
Responsibilities
- Public Impact: Help build the software that millions of drivers use to manage their toll accounts: payments, account history, violation disputes, and communications. This has to be as secure and robust as it is intuitive. When a driver gets a toll bill, this is what they see.
- Partner integrations: Build and maintain integrations with DMVs, mailhouses, and fleet vendors for ACH payment processing. Each integration has its own data contract, compliance constraints, and edge cases. This is early-stage work that requires both technical judgment and the ability to operate without a spec.
- Platform & DevOps: Own deployment tooling, service infrastructure, and shared standards that let a team of 25 move fast. If something is painful to stand up or run, that's your problem to fix.
- Access & internal tooling: Consolidate how services authenticate and how operators manage access across all Blissway deployments, including a unified management interface for internal teams.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Portfolio: A track record of building things—be it side projects, open-source contributions, or high-impact internships.
- Mindset: You are a "fully formed adult." You don’t wait for a manual; you figure out what you need to get stuff done and do it professionally. You understand that feedback is critical to growth and welcome it.
- Experience: 2 to 6 years of software engineering on a quickly shipping team. True end-to-end experience: you’ve taken products from ideation to production and owned what happens after they ship.
Skills
- You love the grind: take ownership and put in the time to meet deadlines. Our recent team survey showed an average of 55 hours/week, with occasional 70+ hour bursts for major releases.
- Detail obsessed: experience writing code that stands up to the unpredictability of the physical world, where small details are the difference between success and failure.
- Adaptable: comfortable helping other teams when they need a boost. We expect you to figure out what you need to get stuff done.
- Code really well: we mostly use Python and TypeScript, but we don’t care what you’re most proficient in today as long as you learn fast.
Benefits
- Relocation Support: Relocation bonus to join the team at our engineering office in Denver. We value in-person collaboration and daily team lunches.
- Personalized Health Coverage (ICHRA): Monthly allowance for you and dependents to choose the individual plan that fits your life.
- Investing in Your Future: 401(k) matching up to 4%.
