About the role
We’re Scan.com, a digital health scale-up focused on making diagnostics accessible, fast, and transparent. Our technology streamlines the diagnostic process, improving healthcare outcomes for hundreds of patients daily. We're revolutionizing diagnostics with tailored solutions for both patients and providers, supported by advanced technology and a dedicated customer operations team. We’ve launched multiple platforms and products, secured significant venture capital funding, achieved profitability, and are poised for rapid growth.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement patient intake workflows, including finishing medical forms, scheduling appointments, and sending relevant reminders.
- Architect a monitoring system for the patient journey at scale to support operations leadership.
- Develop intuitive, efficient dashboards for scheduling, legal operations, and patient services team members.
- Own the automation layer for the operations team, including automatic referral ingestion, task assignment, AI voice reminder calls, and dashboards that highlight issues to operational leads.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to integrate with legacy systems that were not designed for modern interoperability.
- Experience with shipping complex internal operations dashboards and creating delightful user experiences.
- Proficiency in backend development using modern web stacks, particularly Ruby (e.g., Rails), with a focus on building reliable, scalable services.
- Familiarity with RESTful API integration patterns, including schema versioning, backward compatibility, and API contract management.
- Strong operational instincts: you instrument what you build, anticipate failure modes, and treat on-call escalations as signals for systemic gaps.
- Experience in healthcare is a plus, but not required. We prioritize engineering depth and legacy system fluency over industry background.
