The Role
Mach9, a company transforming civil infrastructure design with AI-powered geospatial tools, seeks a Frontend Engineer to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shaping the user experience of file organization, permissions, and sharing, as well as developing the onboarding, account, settings, billing, and team-management surfaces. They will also build the ingest flows for geospatial data and the notification system and collaboration surfaces that enable teams to work together. Additionally, they will develop and maintain the UI component library behind the editor, ensuring high-quality and consistent interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Own the drive and project user experience, including file organization and hierarchies, permissions and sharing, usage dashboards, and searching across thousands of files
- Build the onboarding, account, settings, billing, and team-management surfaces that keep Mach9's customer organizations running
- Create the ingest flows that get geospatial data into Mach9’s product
- Develop and maintain the UI component library behind the editor, raising quality and consistency even as the surface area grows
- Translate designs into pixel-accurate React UIs in close partnership with our designers, ensuring fast performance under real-world load
Requirements
- 3+ years building production-grade web applications
- Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind
- Experience building and maintaining a design system or a shared component library
- A strong eye for detail and visual clarity
- A product mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
Qualifications
- Experience with org or file-management UIs (hierarchies, permissions, large lists)
- Prior work on design tools or other creative/editing software
- Experience with LLM-powered or agentic interfaces
