Software Engineer - FCSD Tech
About the role
We are seeking a software engineer to join our dynamic team at Ford Customer Service Division. The role is based in the Extended Service Business Department, where you will contribute to the development of web services, web pages, APIs, and microservices. Your work will support dealers in selling extended warranties for Ford vehicles globally, enhancing their user and dealer experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a core member of an engineering team that designs and develops web services, web pages, APIs, and microservices.
- Collaborate with other product teams on integrations, testing, and deployments.
- Translate business requirements into detailed specifications.
- Ensure software engineering excellence (e.g., best practices and quality) is achieved within the product team.
- Collaborate with other product teams to reduce complexity across the product/ product line, enhance interoperability between services, and make key design decisions across the portfolio.
- Innovate and operate with an iterative, agile, and user-centric perspective.
- Clearly communicate with team members and internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate software engineering excellence through actively coding, pairing, and performing code and architecture reviews with other software engineers within the product line.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience in Software Engineering, Architecture, and Agile Framework.
- 3+ years with progressive responsibilities in Software Engineering, Architecture, and Agile Framework.
- 3+ years of experience with Core Java, Spring Boot, and frontend frameworks such as React.js / Angular.
- 3+ years of experience with modern databases (relational and non-relational).
- Proven ability to work with a diverse and global team.
- Strong personal presence and capabilities to resolve technical concerns.
- Experience with cloud services and platform knowledge.
- Proven experience developing API solutions.
- Experience collaborating with engineers, designers, and product owners.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your communication style to the audience.
- Able to work collaboratively and navigate complex decision making in a rapidly changing environment.

Pay
This position is a range of salary grades 6-8.
Grade 6: $85,400 – $143,200
Grade 7: $99,600 – $166,600
Grade 8: $115,000 – $192,900
