Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, verify, sustain, and fully document software throughout its lifecycle.
  • Participate in code reviews to learn and apply software best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure software requirements are met.
  • Support integration tests.
  • Ensure all software is maintained under a rigorous configuration management process.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years of software development experience, including academic, internship, or personal project work.
  • Experience with at least one high-level programming language (C, C++, Python, etc.) and shell scripting.
  • Experience in Linux and Windows development environments.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A self-starter, team player with a desire to work with a team of engineers, integrators, analysts, and others in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and perform general office functions.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to maintain an Active Secret Security clearance.

Physical Description

  • Function in a general office/cubicle setting environment and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software, and testing equipment.
  • Interact in a general office setting with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework.
  • Function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software, and complex systems.
  • May move and test equipment of various weights.
  • Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear.
  • May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
