Software Engineer, E-Commerce AI Platform

About the Team

We are the TikTok E-commerce AI Platform team (USDS). Our mission is to build the one-stop AI platform that allows different business domains to fully realize the potential of LLM and AI Agents. We provide a business-centric and user-friendly platform covering model training, model service management, MCP/Skills/Tools integration, AI orchestration, and business applications. Our vision is to maximize end-to-end AI application development efficiency and ultimately enable e-commerce businesses to achieve a self-evolving AI-native goal.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture & Implementation: Lead the design, implementation, and operation of AI platforms that provide robust performance and flexible business integration solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across various teams, organizations, and internal/external stakeholders to drive complex engineering efforts and align technical strategies.
• Innovation: Drive technical innovation by identifying and integrating emerging technologies and novel ideas to keep our infrastructure at the cutting edge.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience building, training, and deploying complex and scalable Machine Learning systems.
• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Solid programming skills with a strong understanding of Agentic AI and AI platforms like ChatBot, Rag, A2A protocols, etc.
• Proven experience in managing technical projects and delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications

• In-depth experience with Agentic AI and related sub-systems (e.g., Rag, AutoPrompt).
• Deep understanding of the full LLM training and serving process.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $136,800 - $259,200 annually. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of a total package that may include discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
