Software Engineer - Developer 2 (contract)

About the role

The Boeing Company is seeking a Software Engineer to join the BDS Air Dominance Software Engineering group in St Louis, MO region. This position supports the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization and focuses on integrating innovative technologies into platforms like the F-15, F/A-18, F-22, T-7, MQ-25, and advanced programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops, documents, and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
• Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executes the test procedures and documents test results to ensure software system requirements are met
• Executes and documents software research and development projects
• Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
• Troubleshoots software issues

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with professional software development
• 2+ years of experience in C/C++, Ada, and/or a similar object-oriented programming language
• 2+ years of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
• Average of 2+ years of experience in professional software development
• Experience with DevOps tools, such as GitLab (CI/CD), Git Bash, Gradle, Jira, Jenkins, and Artifactory
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
• Experience developing embedded real-time software
• Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)

Skills

• Agile/SAFe development experience
• Knowledge of Ada, C, C++, Python
