Software Engineer - Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Modern autonomous system development relies on daily, large-scale, realistic simulations to test software changes. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer on our cloud platform team, you will improve the development and deployment of our large-scale simulation infrastructure. You will address the compute and data-generation demands that push standard cluster deployments to their limits, ensuring reliability and interoperability with custom autonomy software used worldwide. You will collaborate across the engineering team to ensure the operational success of our backend and customer deployments.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement best practices for deploying and maintaining software for multiple customers across AWS, GCP, and Azure with minimal downtime and high reliability.
• Monitor Applied Intuition software on deployed machines and architect solutions to encountered bottlenecks.
• Improve developer efficiency by building internal tooling and optimizing CI/CD systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in a software engineering role focused on infrastructure, monitoring, or large-scale software products.
• 3+ years of coding experience, including shell scripting (e.g., Bash) and higher-level languages (e.g., Python, C++).
• Experience with microservice orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with containerized systems (e.g., Docker).
• Proficiency in Golang, Python, Java, React, and C++.

Nice to have

• Experience utilizing open-source tooling.
• Experience deploying software on public clouds (e.g., AWS) or on-premise clusters.

Pay

Base salary range for this full-time position in Sunnyvale: $150,000 – $230,000 USD annually. The final offer will be influenced by experience, credentials, educational attainment, skill level, interview performance, and the scope of the position.

Schedule

This is an in-office role based in Sunnyvale, with an expectation of primarily working from the Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. Flexibility is provided for occasional remote work, adjusting start/end times, or accommodating personal commitments as needed.
