Software Engineer (Clearance Required)

About the Role

Eleven Peppers is hiring for an exciting contract in Chantilly, VA. We're looking for a passionate UI developer with the ability to work across both front-end and back-end development to deliver complete solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs to determine the most effective solutions.
• Be a master of interactions between the machine and humans.
• Design and develop with big picture views and small detail focus.
• Define, document, and communicate front end development standards, best practices, code review processes, and build websites and tools.
• Immerse yourself in modern best practices including code review and deployment.
• Review, maintain, and improve user-facing code.
• Contribute to mission critical web infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience developing websites with a focus on UI development.
• 5+ years of experience using JavaScript and PHP.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (3+ years of additional experience in Web Development or Software Engineering will be considered in lieu of a degree).
• Experience writing source code for new applications or reviewing, generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications or software.
• Knowledge of database systems and mySQL.
• Excellent with front end frameworks and fundamentals, such as HTML, CSS, responsive design, and accessibility.
• Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation optimization.
• Government clearance (REQUIRED).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using content management systems (e.g. Joomla) and/or knowledge of CMS plug-ins and extensions.
• Knowledge of building, enhancing, web application and/or API.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience project management tools such as Jira or Confluence.
