Software Engineer – Backend | Remote

Type: Full-time, remote, sprint-based project running in 12-24 hour stretches based on project requirements. Commission: $85/hour (typical accepted tasks pay approximately $400 and take 2-3 hours after ramp-up).

Responsibilities

• Complete and evaluate complex backend engineering tasks using coding agents.
• Review model-generated code for correctness, quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in generated outputs.
• Compare outputs from multiple models and assess strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply engineering judgment to real-world backend engineering scenarios.

Requirements

• Strong experience in backend engineering.
• Strong experience building APIs, distributed systems, microservices, backend platforms, or databases.
• Strong experience using coding agents and developer productivity tools.
• Ability to evaluate model-generated code and identify bugs, edge cases, and architectural tradeoffs.
• Strong experience working on large-scale production systems.
