Software Engineer, Backend Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a systems-oriented Software Engineer, Backend engineer to join our team. This role involves owning end-to-end delivery of essential, core functionality for Rescale customers, as well as rapidly iterating on new product ideas. Responsibilities include working with teammates to build and maintain high-quality automation for building and testing our main customer-facing platform, developing and maintaining critical areas of the product such as identity management, elastic cloud workstations, and workflow automation.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience building and operating performant, non-trivial backend systems in production
• Expertise or strong interest in web performance optimization (including ORM and DB profiling), deploying and scaling web applications using cloud services, and application security
• High enthusiasm for supporting both rapid proof-of-concept prototypes as well as robust, mission-critical components for both internal and external stakeholders
• Comfortable with ambiguity, strong user-first mindset, and ability to come up with non-regrettable technical solutions
• Flexibility and dedication to work in a team and ship exceptional software

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
