Software Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineer, you will participate in all aspects of software development activities, including design, coding, code review, unit/integration testing, bug fixing, and code/API documentation. You will collaborate closely with the rest of engineering and other stakeholders from our growth, marketing, and product teams to plan features and build a high-quality product that elevates the productivity of all developers. You will improve Warp's performance and reliability by building new features or polishing existing product parts. You will prototype ideas and concepts to get quick feedback from internal and external users. You will work across the entire technical stack to ensure users have the most efficient and delightful Warp experience. The features you develop will span all aspects of the user experience, making you an expert on their needs.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Experience with software development
• Experience with at least one modern programming language
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha)
• Experience with debugging tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols
• Experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular)
• Experience with back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python)
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack)
• Experience with security practices and principles
• Experience with agile methodologies and Scrum

Pay

The budgeted compensation amount for this role is targeted at $165,000 to $260,000. Exact compensation will vary based on skills and experience.

Schedule

We operate on a flexible remote-first culture, with optional office spaces in NYC and SF for folks who want to work together IRL.
