About the role

We are looking for versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. You will help shape the digital future of monetary transactions by building components of powerful payment technology.

Responsibilities

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements, valuable service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, B2B, and business-to-government solutions.
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology.
• Support relationship with product owners to gather and refine requirements for one product task, considering existing tools and solutions.
• Begin to develop and design architectural solutions, considering integrations with other solutions.
• Provide relevant knowledge on the development of user documentation of solutions and follow standard processes in user documentation.
• Play a minor role in the development and delivery of new features within a product.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 6 months to 2 years of experience.
• Expertise in one or more general development languages (e.g., Java, C#, C++).
• Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability.
• Constant drive to learn new technologies such as Angular, React, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
• Experience collaborating with Product, Test, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of and ability to develop front-end code (e.g., HTML, CSS, and JavaScript).
• Understanding of user interface design and optimal industrial design experience through UI Design.
• Knowledge of and ability to develop back-end code (e.g., Python, Java, C++, PHP).
• Ability to develop and use Application Program Interfaces (APIs).
• Knowledge of and ability to use database software to maintain, modify, and output data.
• Knowledge of systems integration processes.
• Knowledge of data structures, including data organization, management, and storage formats.

Pay

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $88,000 to $136,900 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

Schedule

• Visa requires at least 3 days in office; specific expectations will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
• Work hours vary upon the needs of the department.
• This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
