About the role
This role offers the opportunity to lead software design and development processes, drive efficient engineering practices, and contribute to groundbreaking projects that make a real difference to warfighters, citizens, and the nation.
Responsibilities
- Lead software design and development processes, including requirements analysis, specifications, design, implementation, and development.
- Drive efficient processes, create best practices for software development, and perform code and design reviews.
- Collaborate with software managers, Electrical and Systems Engineering managers, and the Program Chief Engineering team to optimize engineering assignments across the development organization.
- Identify and establish development processes and standards to enhance team productivity and performance.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to team members regarding career development and growth opportunities.
- Contribute to development on projects as required.
- Conduct performance evaluations of engineers.
- Manage the recruitment, interview, and hiring process for additional software engineers.
- Participate in Engineering Proposal cost estimation and Basis of Estimate efforts.
- Manage matrix organization manpower allocation.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance and additional clearances as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience.
- Graduate Degree (Master’s preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience is required.
- Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams or manage across functions.
- Experience with recruiting and hiring technical talent.
- Experience developing technical and cost volume inputs for proposals.
- Experience as a Cost Account Manager utilizing EVMS and the program execution lifecycle.
- Able to travel up to 10%.
Skills
- Experience working within an Agile development environment (highly desirable). Scrum Team certification and/or experience.
- Experience leading proposal development and Basis of Estimate generation.
- Development experience in any of the following areas: Real-Time embedded software development, Information Assurance, video communications, embedded interfaces (I2C, RS232, CAN, Ethernet), Safety Critical systems.
- Experience with DevOps processes, tools, and procedures (highly desirable).
Pay
The salary range for this role is $148,000–$205,000. Final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
