Responsibilities

  • Technical Engineering Services
  • Drives engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations.
  • Encouraged to supervise base and associate level engineers as needed.

  • Contributes to designs to implement new ideas which use new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service.

  • Service Operations & Reliability
  • Utilizes proficient knowledge and skill in emerging DevOps-centric automation tools and technologies for CI/CD, configuration management, etc. for non-prod and production environments.
  • Performs environment management, automated server provisioning (VMs), pipeline configuration.
  • Creates, manages, and uses dashboards for continuous monitoring and health checks of applications, and the underlying infrastructure, improves the quality of services using the monitoring feedback for non-production and production environment.
  • Technical Writing
  • Writes basic documentation on how technology works.
  • Buils clear documentation for new code and systems used.
  • Documents systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager level.
  • Qualifications

    • Required: 2+ years technical engineering experience.
    • Experience working in an Agile and DevOps environment.
    • Experience in one or more of: C, C#, Java, Perl, Python, Go, or scripting experience in Shell and Perl.
    • Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools, such as, Jenkins, Cloudbees, etc., and other automation tools.
    • Experience with DevOps tools, such as, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
    • Experience in Docker, Kubernetes, etc. is preferable.
    • Experience in APM tools like, AppDynamics, logging and alerting tool, like Splunk and Graphana.
    • Experience working in a cloud environment (public/private).
    • Deep understanding of SQL syntax, including DDL, DML, and different types of joins.
    • Proficiency in writing stored procedures, functions, and views using PL/pgSQL.
    • Familiarity with PostgreSQL's features, extensions, and standard processes.
    • Knowledge of PostgreSQL index types, CTE, temporary tables, table partitioning, and data types like json, jsonb, and bytea.
    • Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and Docker.
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
    • Build RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.

      • Experience in migrating to cloud or cloud native environments.
      • Hands-on experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle.
      • Ability to build and handle scalable, secure, and highly available databases using Amazon RDS with PostgreSQL.

      Education

      • Required: Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of related work experience OR advanced degree with 1 year of related work experience.
      • Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Engineering.
