About the role

We need a Software Engineer who can take complex problems apart and put them back together better. Someone who can write code that scales, automate the tedious parts, and ensure everything works smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Build effective, scalable code for CMS, integrating systems into one AI-driven platform.
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines, including build, test, and deployment workflows using tools like Jenkins and Terraform.
  • Develop and maintain automated test suites, including unit, integration, and regression tests, and integrate them with quality gates.
  • Containerize and deploy workloads with Docker and REST APIs.
  • Investigate and debug test failures, updating tests or filing bugs as necessary, keeping the build green and honest.
  • Bake in security by integrating code-quality checks and security gates into the pipeline.
  • Work closely with human-centered design experts to develop intuitive, responsive, and personalized solutions for users.
  • Develop and tune backend components to improve responsiveness and overall performance.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with strong coding chops in Python and related technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, DevSecOps, and DevTestOps, including automation of build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated test suites, including unit, integration, and regression tests, and integrating them with quality gates.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker or Kubernetes), REST APIs, and agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean, SAFe).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse team of stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in an agile flavor or two - Scrum, Lean, or SAFe.
  • Experience with AI, NLP, LLMs, or ML-driven applications.
  • Experience supporting CMS or another federal agency.
  • Experience working inside a FISMA boundary or supporting an ATO/cATO effort.
