The Software Engineer

This role contributes to system design decisions, including hardware/software trade-offs, reuse of existing solutions, and integration of COTS/GOTS technologies. The engineer develops algorithms, builds and integrates software components, and creates or modifies database queries and interfaces. They also analyze system workflows, identify problem areas, and implement effective solutions while supporting and improving development processes and documentation.

• Develops applications in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, and Python for Windows or UNIX environments
• Leverages DevOps and CI/CD tools (e.g., Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Bamboo) to build and deploy software solutions

Required Skills

• Experience developing and maintaining complex software systems across the full development lifecycle
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, and Python
• Experience with Windows and/or UNIX/Linux development environments
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Artifactory)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo)
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective software solutions
• Experience debugging, testing, and integrating software components
• Knowledge of database design, queries, and data repositories
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and on a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 7 years of relevant experience
• High School diploma and 11 years of relevant experience

Clearance

TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
