About the role
Discover this exciting opportunity in Colorado Springs! Our Software Engineer (Journeyman) will provide software support for the sustainment and modernization of the US Space Force Satellite Control Network (SCN).
Responsibilities
- Provide software support for the sustainment and modernization of the US Space Force Satellite Control Network (SCN)
- Perform software sustainment engineering on the various mission and non-mission systems using Agile Software Development
- Supports testing, writing and executing automated test scripts and unit tests
- Coordinate closely with team members, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure User Story alignment and implementation to customer use cases.
- Analyze (through demonstrations, proof of concept, performance, and end-to-end testing) and effectively coordinate Infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
- Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
- Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas
Qualifications
- Absolutely required: Obtain an active secret security clearance
- Preferred: Active Secret clearance or higher
- Education: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts and 2 years of related experience
- Experience: Experience in software development using Java, C and or C++, Testing/Scripting experience
- Desired: Experience writing and executing test scripts, Experience on DoD programs and interaction with government stakeholders - SCN experience is a plus, Experience using the following COTS tools: VersionOne, GitHub, SharePoint, Fortify, Writing custom simulations, Agile Software Development experience, Agile certifications (software development oriented)

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have The ability to obtain an active secret security clearance. US Citizenship. A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts and 2 years of related experience. Experience in software development using Java, C and or C++. Experience in at least one of the following: Linux, Unix, Pearl/Python. Testing/Scripting experience. The ability to travel on occasion up to 25%. Additional Desired Experience And Skills. An active Secret clearance or higher. Experience writing and executing test scripts. Experience on DoD programs and interaction with government stakeholders - SCN experience is a plus. Experience using the following COTS tools: VersionOne, GitHub, SharePoint, Fortify. Writing custom simulations. Agile Software Development experience. Agile certifications (software development oriented).

Salary range: The range for this position can be found at the top of this posting. This range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. Actual base salary will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the scope of the role, relevant experience, job-related knowledge, education and training, key skills, and geographic market considerations. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets. In addition to base salary, eligible positions may include other forms of compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.
