Software Engineer

About the role

This role is ideal for a recent college graduate with a strong technical background and interest in growing within enterprise platforms and IT Service Management (ITSM).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and configuration of applications on the ServiceNow platform using App Engine Studio
• Support implementation and customization of ITSM modules, including Incident, Change, and Request Management
• Develop and maintain ServiceNow components such as: Forms and fields, Business rules, Client scripts, UI policies, Workflows, and Flow Designer solutions
• Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, testing, and documentation
• Collaborate with senior developers, system administrators, and functional stakeholders
• Troubleshoot issues and support platform enhancements and continuous improvements
• Follow ServiceNow development best practices, security standards, and Serco development methodologies
• Maintain documentation for developed solutions and configurations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals and software development concepts
• Proficiency or coursework experience with JavaScript
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web-based application concepts
• Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling concepts
• Foundational understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) or IT operations principles
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic, internship, or project experience with enterprise systems or SaaS platforms
• Exposure to low-code or no-code development platforms
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies
• Experience consuming or building REST APIs
