Software Engineer

About the role

Rincon Research Corporation (RRC) seeks a Software Engineer to create cutting-edge software and cloud computing solutions for challenging national security and defense signal processing, geolocation, and communication problems. You will work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment alongside skilled and motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists/engineers, contributing to innovative signal processing and geolocation systems.

Responsibilities

• Design real-time cloud processing solutions.
• Implement advanced signal processing and geolocation algorithms with efficient software.
• Test solutions using real data and deploy applications to front-line customer facilities.
• Create effective user interfaces and data visualization tools.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies, and experiment with new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into RRC projects.
• Work across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment, and operations & maintenance.
• Propose improvements to applications and frameworks.
• Work unsupervised with minimal direction and self-start on tasks.

Requirements

• Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Proficient in modern software engineering practices for testability and readability.
• Proficient in C++ and Python in Linux environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design software systems for functionality, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• DevOps and Cloud computing experience (GitLab, CI/CD, CVE mitigations, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP).
• Experience with Agile development processes.
• Current TS/SCI clearance.

Location

This position is located at our Tucson, AZ Headquarters. Remote work/telework is not available.
