SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals to join our team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS). The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for software development in Java
- Provide in-depth analysis and technical support for a large, distributed Java system
- Perform complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a large codebase
- Follow specifications to develop or modify functionality in the code
- Aid in design, benchmarking, testing, debugging, and documentation
- Interface with other system support groups to resolve issues, set standards, and improve the system's overall efficiency
- Frequent contact with internal and external customers and representation of the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects
Minimum Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 5 years of relevant work experience
- Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience
- 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
- Active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.)
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Experience with Java or C++ software development, software testing, or software integration
- Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and automated test tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
- Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Desired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- DoD-issued Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Full-stack web development experience preferred, including Angular/Cesium/JWT Authentication/TypeScript/HTML/CSS/Node.js/Wildfly
- Experience with Eclipse, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience with using and developing SW and creating scripts on Linux
Salary Range
The below salary range represents a general guideline; however, QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Salary Range: $82,000 – $166,000
