Software Engineer
We are looking for a software engineer who has a genuine interest in learning, implementing, and solving complex problems. Our ideal candidate is someone with three or more years of experience working on software applications, who can adapt quickly and add value to our fast-paced, growing business while contributing collaboratively within our software development team. Through our suite of internal and external web applications, APIs, and proprietary calculators, we handle valuable information on behalf of our clients. Responsibilities
- Builds software applications – follows coding standards, builds appropriate unit tests, integration tests, and deployment scripts
- Assists in refining software architectures – collaborates with leads to explore existing systems, determines areas of complexity, potential risks to successful implementation, and learns the applications’ capabilities
- Communicates continually with the client and project teams – explains progress on the development effort
- Owns success – takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions
- Contributes to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to user interface, software architecture, or new technologies
Requirements
- 4-year degree or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience with design, maintenance, and development with SQL / relational databases
- Expertise in at least one compiled language (Java, C, C#, etc.)
- Expertise in at least one interpreted language (JavaScript, Python, Powershell, etc.)
- Experience working with REST APIs and/or SOAP APIs
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, frameworks, and technologies
- Great problem-solving and design skills, with demonstrated passion for quality
- Takes initiative and is able to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with React, NodeJS, TypeScript
- Experience working in an agile development process
- Experience working with distributed source control systems (Git)
- Experience developing AWS or cloud provider technologies

Pay
The base pay range for this role is $85,000 – $100,000. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors, including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
Schedule
Hybrid, 1 day per week in the Minneapolis, MN office.
