About the role

Looking for a Software Engineer to join a fast-paced but fun environment solving business problems and driving direct outcomes thought innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations. Help us create best in class Auto Claims solutions, supporting our employees and customers by making the claims process as accurate and efficient as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborative partner: Work side-by-side with business colleagues and interact with customers to address technical challenges and ensure quality through collaborative, test- and behavior-driven development.
  • Problem Solver: Tackle complex problems using innovative and creative approaches to develop effective solutions.
  • Customer-centric Developer: Keep the end-user front and center, building products that deliver meaningful customer value.
  • Forward Thinker: Go beyond fixing issues by proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Three years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban or XP.
  • Experience or exposure to modern front-end and back-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, including AWS, Cloud Foundry, and CDNs (e.g., Akamai).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills—and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers.
  • A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts.
  • A thorough grasp of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban or XP.
  • Experience or exposure to modern front-end and back-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, including AWS, Cloud Foundry, and CDNs (e.g., Akamai).

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
