Software Engineer

Join a tech team transforming a trillion-dollar industry. As a Software Engineer at Liberty Mutual, you'll innovate and deliver leading solutions that provide peace of mind for global customers. This hybrid role requires two days in-office per week in Boston, Portsmouth, Plano, Indianapolis, or Columbus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business colleagues and customers to solve technical challenges and ensure quality through collaborative, test- and behavior-driven development.
• Tackle complex problems with innovative and creative approaches to develop effective solutions.
• Keep the end-user at the forefront, building products that deliver meaningful customer value.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Three years of software engineering experience.
• Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or XP.
• Experience or exposure to modern front-end and back-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, including AWS, Cloud Foundry, and CDNs (e.g., Akamai).
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers.
• A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts.
• A thorough grasp of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture, and technical standards.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
