Software Engineer

Koch Ag & Energy Solutions, LLC (KAES) is hiring a skilled Software Engineer for our Koch Energy Services (KES) Natural Gas Trading team. This role partners with Trading, Scheduling, Risk Management, KAES Data Analytics, and other IT teams to deliver projects supporting diverse business opportunities using KAES software development patterns and best practices. This role is based in Houston, TX or Wichita, KS.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to understand requirements
• Deliver software solutions to meet business needs while following KAES standards and practices
• Participate in agile and iterative development processes
• Engage in technical design to deliver robust solutions
• Implement modern cloud-based data architecture in AWS
• Foster an entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication skills, and excellent critical thinking

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 6+ years of experience in Web and Cloud application development
• Advanced proficiency in React
• Experience with AWS Lambda
• Familiarity with DynamoDB
• Familiarity with S3
• Experience with Typescript and NodeJS
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Copilot or Claude

Preferred Qualifications

• Energy Industry experience
• Previous experience building integrations into ETRM systems
• SQL database experience
• Experience with CDK or Serverless
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture
