Software Engineer

About the role

A growing technology business is looking for a technical expert to join the team and develop core networking software for large-scale infrastructure. The role involves designing and operating high-speed interconnect fabrics and the software required to manage performance at an unprecedented scale. You will solve complex problems in distributed systems and high-performance networking to maximize the efficiency of advanced computing clusters.

Responsibilities

• Develop routing and traffic-engineering algorithms for high-performance datacenter networks.
• Build highly reliable, real-time software for switches forming the backbone of low-latency fabrics.
• Lead architecture, design, and code reviews for critical networking infrastructure.
• Create prototypes and run experiments to validate design decisions across production clusters.
• Develop tools for software deployment, data analysis, and testing in virtualized and hardware environments.

Requirements

• Strong professional development experience in C or C++.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience writing high-performance code for production environments.
• Ability to develop, debug, and deploy software for complex distributed systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to a flat organizational structure.

Pay

Salary: £180,000 - £440,000 annual
