About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Lockheed Martin. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems that support critical analytic missions. Your expertise will contribute to the design and execution of advanced data analytics solutions and support agile development projects aimed at high-visibility objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including senior engineers and mission specialists, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software products. Qualifications
- A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution is essential; however, four (4) additional years of relevant software engineering experience on projects with comparable processes can substitute for a degree.
- Candidates should demonstrate extensive experience in designing, developing, testing, and debugging software solutions, particularly within Linux operating environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java is highly desirable, along with a strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced data analytics solutions in collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Design, develop, test, and debug software applications primarily on Linux platforms, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure timely delivery of software products.
- Collaborate with mission stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes, including Development Acceptance Testing (DAT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), SME validation, Smoke Testing, and System Level Testing prior to deployment.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of software designs, processes, and testing procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices into development workflows to improve efficiency and product quality.
