Software Engineer
About the role
Code that saves lives. As a software developer at Epic, you’ll write software that impacts the lives of 325 million patients around the world. Working in your own office, surrounded by thousands of high-caliber developers, you’ll use modern development methodologies and employ user-centered design, analytics, and machine learning tools to drive innovation in healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Use leading-edge technologies and languages like JS, TS, and C# to invent better ways to reduce medical errors, streamline record sharing between hospitals, and provide the quality of care a patient deserves.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver impactful solutions.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through active participation in code reviews, pair programming, and agile practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and contribute to the ongoing evolution of Epic’s technology stack.
Requirements
- BS/BA or greater in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- A history of academic excellence or professional success.
- Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (persons with appropriate qualifications and eligible for TN status under NAFTA may apply).
Qualifications
- Experience with modern development methodologies and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for healthcare and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
Skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and C#.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Knowledge of user-centered design and analytics.
- Interest in machine learning and its applications in healthcare.

Location
Epic is located just outside Madison, Wisconsin, the second fastest growing market for tech talent in the United States and home to the state capital and the University of Wisconsin. Relocation to the Madison, WI area (Reimbursed).
