Software Engineer
Fully remote, full-time, exempt position based in the United States (not accepting applicants from California, Illinois, or New York). Visa sponsorship is not available.
About the role
The Software Engineer supports the design, development, and maintenance of software applications, contributing to Cutsforth’s monitoring applications and continuous improvements while supporting business and testing needs. Communication, organization, and initiative are key skills for this role.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement new algorithms and tools within our monitoring software platform
- Conduct routine and non-routine testing on existing algorithms to identify bugs and areas for optimization
- Document algorithm implementation, user requirements, and specifications
- Follow established patterns and build upon existing models
- Apply structured, scientific problem-solving approaches to technical challenges
- Contribute to the understanding and implementation of complex system designs
- Estimate time required to complete familiar tasks and projects accurately
- Communicate effectively and collaborate well within a team environment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams through clear communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team knowledge sharing
- Use version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools as part of the development workflow
- Maintain a cybersecure work environment and review relevant cybersecurity policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in C# and Python
- Project-based software development experience
- Familiarity with algorithm development and software testing practices
- Successfully pass a background check for cybersecurity site access
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Experience with React
- Experience with monitoring or industrial software applications
- Exposure to integrating mechanical or electronic systems, instrumentation, or control logic
Pay
$101,269 – $128,689, depending on years of experience.
