Software Engineer

About the Role

Castalia Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to support our onsite client with their mission in developing cutting-edge satellite ground systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for cutting-edge satellite ground systems.
• Work with a team of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience (unless prohibited by local laws/regulations).
• Experience designing and developing object-oriented software using Java.
• Experience with Java multi-threading.
• An active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to the start date. An active and transferable Top Secret clearance that can be crossed over to TS/SCI is also acceptable.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing satellite planning and scheduling software.
• Software development lifecycle experience using the SAFe Agile methodology.
• Experience developing software using C++ and Python.
• Experience with microservices in an AWS environment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Test Automation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
• Experience with tools such as Confluence, Eclipse, Jira, Jenkins, Junit, Kafka, and Spring Boot.

Work Environment

Normal office environment with less than 5% travel.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $180,000.00 to $190,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, position knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
