Software Engineer
About Us
Camber builds software to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare. We streamline and replace manual work so clinicians can focus on what they do best: providing great care. For more details on our thesis, check out our write-up: What is Camber?
About our Culture
- Improving accessibility and quality of healthcare is something we live and breathe.
- We have a strong sense of humor, especially given the often-difficult nature of healthcare.
About the role
At Camber, we build reliable, high-quality software that solves meaningful problems and powers critical workflows. As a Software Engineer, you'll contribute across our stack, take ownership of meaningful features, and grow your craft in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You'll work closely with senior engineers and product teammates to deliver impactful work from day one.
What you'll do
- Build and ship features end-to-end — from scoping and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that your teammates will love to work with.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and clinician-facing teams to understand problems and deliver great solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and help raise the bar for quality across the team.
- Uphold security requirements and maintain compliance with HIPAA security regulations.
What we're looking for
- 2–5 years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production software.
- Comfort working across the stack and a willingness to go wherever the problem takes you.
- Strong fundamentals — you write code that is readable, testable, and built to last.
- A growth mindset — you approach new challenges with curiosity and aren't afraid to ask questions or take on unfamiliar problems.
- Alignment on our mission — you genuinely care about making healthcare better and want to be part of building something meaningful.
