Software Engineer

We create powerful software for business executives and HR leaders. Our modular platform helps companies plan, hire, manage, and retain their workforce.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features to solve challenging problems in our large Rails codebase.
• Optimize scalability, performance, and security.
• Maintain and improve existing systems.
• Collaborate with our team of developers, designers, and QA.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Ability to solve complex tasks in a mature codebase, with a solid attention to detail and desire to build great software.
• Backend Focus (Ruby on Rails Preferred):
• 4+ years of hands-on Rails experience is great, or equivalent experience in similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of web security best practices (access control, OWASP top 10, etc.).
• Solid skills and experience with relational database design and optimization (MySQL preferred).
• Familiarity with building and consuming APIs, including REST and GraphQL.
• Write Tests to ensure maintainable, reliable code.
• Front-End Familiarity:
• Ability to handle basic front-end tasks or troubleshooting.
• Bonus if you've worked with tools like React, TypeScript, or d3.js.
• Education: CS degree or equivalent proven skills and experience.
• Location: On-site or hybrid preferred.
