Software Engineer

About the role

This is a fully on-site position based in Chantilly, VA. No remote option is available. An active Poly clearance is required; applicants without one will not be considered.

Required Experience

• Systems Administration
• Analyzing browser network traffic to understand client/server communications and requests
• Integrating cloud services including Lambda functions and layers, S3, Batch, EC2, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, IAM roles, DynamoDB, and container services
• Leveraging a background in programming, software tools and packages, operating systems, and networking to solve collection needs
• Deep experience in software development
• Gathering program needs and transforming them into technical requirements for client consideration
• Documenting and communicating technical and non-technical program requirements for all audiences
• Working with other technical teams across multiple organizational boundaries
• Python
• JavaScript
• Efficient back-end programming (not UI) in at least one other programming language (not Python or JavaScript)
• Installing Linux from scratch and developing complex Unix shell scripts
• Using AWS Cloud Development Kits (CDK) — CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar are not substitutes for CDK experience
• Transforming data in various file formats into common formats such as JSON, CSV, or XML
• Analyzing unknown software code and extracting relevant fields to determine and mimic its behavior
• Developing a software system testing harness or implementing a continuous testing methodology on a project

Desired Experience

• Tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, JADX, or APKtool
• Multiple cloud providers
• Other programming languages besides Python
