Software Engineer

Purpose and Impact

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD. The role supports challenging, mission-critical projects that directly impact the Nation’s security and intelligence mission.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements.
• Works individually or as part of a team.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Solves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

• Safety - Ensures a safe work environment through continuous development and maintenance.
• Quality - Consistently provides services meeting customer expectations through adherence to Amentum Quality Policy and Quality System documents.
• Procedure Compliance - Adheres to all operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of plans, procedures, and policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience with C/C++, Perl, Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, MySQL.
• Clearance Required: TS/SCI with poly.
• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Minimum Years of Experience: 10+ years of Software Engineering experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Compensation Details

The compensation range for this position is $230,000.
