Software Engineer
Non-exempt position; overtime at 1.5× base hourly rate for hours over 40 per week, or as required by state/local law.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the development and enhancement of critical platforms, with a focus on payments infrastructure and related systems. This position requires a highly experienced software professional who can lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about code quality, performance, continuous improvement, and modern software development practices. You will take projects from concept through implementation while maintaining a holistic perspective on system architecture, business needs, and long-term sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of new features for the Company's marketplace purchase platforms, with an emphasis on payments infrastructure and supporting systems.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions using C# and .NET technologies.
- Ensure code meets established requirements, follows best practices, and aligns with performance, scalability, and maintainability standards.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to promote high-quality software development.
- Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing, collaboration, pair programming, and technical leadership.
- Create clear technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and implementation guidance to improve knowledge sharing and project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and successfully deliver projects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvements within a geographically distributed team environment.
- Evaluate technologies and recommend appropriate tools and approaches that support business and technical objectives.
- Support the development and maintenance of high-volume, high-availability systems in a cloud-based architecture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of software development experience.
- Extensive experience developing applications using C# and ASP.NET/.NET Core technologies.
- Experience designing and developing microservices within cloud-based environments, preferably AWS.
- Experience working with high-volume, highly available systems.
- Experience participating in Agile development environments and collaborating with geographically dispersed teams.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and guiding development efforts.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core.
- Experience with relational database technologies, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Redis, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with event and stream processing technologies, particularly Kafka.
- Familiarity with messaging and event-driven technologies such as AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and microservices-based development.
- Ability to perform code reviews and advocate software engineering best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Passion for code quality, continuous improvement, and problem solving.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with omni-channel eCommerce platforms and transaction-based applications.
- Experience working with payment systems and related technologies.
- Front-end development experience, particularly with Vue.js.
- Interest in or experience within the hobby gaming industry.
Pay
$70.00–$70.27 per hour.
