About the Role

The software engineering role has fundamentally changed. Today’s engineers are not just writers of code; they are orchestrators of AI agents across the entire development lifecycle: requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. AI is now a co-pilot at every stage.

What we’re looking for: an engineer who uses AI as a force multiplier, not an occasional shortcut. Someone who has moved beyond AI as an assistant to using it as an agent: prompting deliberately, validating rigorously, and shipping faster because of it. You can plan a feature, leverage AI to build it, and then critically review and defend the output.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performance features across our SaaS platform.
• Lead a Plan → Build → Review cycle on features, using AI assistance throughout and validating every output before it ships.
• Build and maintain API (application programming interface) integrations that extend platform capabilities for home care, senior living, and childcare networks.
• Use AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) daily to accelerate feature development, improve code quality, and reduce debugging time.
• Treat AI as an agent—not just an autocomplete—by crafting effective prompts, orchestrating multi-step tasks, and critically reviewing AI-generated code before merging.
• Apply AI to the full SDLC (software development life cycle): requirements analysis, system design, implementation, test generation, code review, and post-deployment maintenance.
• Help establish team norms around responsible, high-quality AI-assisted development.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teammates to deliver customer-focused features in an agile environment.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery) pipelines, and unit/integration testing.
• Troubleshoot issues across the full stack (frontend, backend, data, integrations).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tooling, and standards.
• Stay current on the rapidly evolving landscape of AI development tools and bring new approaches to the team.

Requirements

• 1-2 years professional software development
• Daily use of AI coding tools (not occasional)
• Ability to validate and defend AI-generated code
• Full-stack development experience
• Strong command of agile SDLC
• Professional experience: PHP, JavaScript, Java, C#, or similar
• Strong written and verbal communication

Nice to Have

• Experience modernizing legacy systems with AI-assisted refactoring
• Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS architectures; AWS (Amazon Web Services) preferred
• Agentic IDE (integrated development environment) experience (Cursor, Windsurf, or similar)
• Healthcare, home care, or regulated vertical SaaS background
• Experience building or working with internal AI agents/tools
• Contributions to development process improvements or tooling
