About the role

We're looking for an AI Product Engineer to join the team responsible for Notion's Custom Agents. This role involves helping to define and build cutting-edge AI-powered features into this core product experience, leveraging LLMs, embeddings, and other AI technologies to make Notion's Custom Agents more intelligent, capable, and reliable at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to prototype and experiment with new AI features
  • Productionize and scale asynchronous workflows across Notion’s systems
  • Collaborate across AI, Infrastructure, and Product teams to deliver high-quality experiences for users
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AI technologies and trends

Requirements

To bring value to this role, you should have:

  • Expertise building and prototyping: Experience building AI products using LLMs, embeddings, and other ML technologies; understanding of how parts of a system fit together from UI to data model; familiarity with relational databases like Postgres or MySQL; experience building products from ground up.
  • Problem-solving: Approach problems holistically, starting with a clear and accurate understanding of the context; think critically about the implications of what you're building and how it will impact real people's lives; navigate ambiguity flawlessly, decompose complex problems into clean solutions, while also balancing the business impact of what you’re building.
  • Empathetic communication and collaboration: Communicate nuanced ideas clearly, whether in writing or real-time brainstorming; engage thoughtfully with other perspectives and compromise when needed; enjoy collaborating with both fellow engineers and cross-functional partners.
  • Lifelong learning and investment in both your own growth and the growth, learning, and development of your teammates.
  • Impact-orientation and user focus: Care about business impact and prioritize projects accordingly; understand the balance between craft, speed, and the bottom line; think critically about the implications of what you're building, and how it shapes real people's lives; understand that reach comes with responsibility for our impact—good and bad; collaborate cross-functionally to accomplish shared goals.
