Software Engineer, AI Product (Canada)

For our client, a leader in the Enterprise Technology space, we are seeking a Software Engineer to join their team and lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. This role involves collaborating across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-powered features that integrate LLMs with existing products
• Establish evaluations and monitoring systems to enhance AI quality
• Collaborate with AI Platform engineers to develop foundational AI tools
• Make tradeoffs balancing business priorities, user experience, and technical sustainability
• Mentor engineering peers and promote a collaborative, ownership-oriented culture

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Experience shipping LLM-backed products with knowledge in prompting, RAG, or agent frameworks
• Full-stack development expertise including backend systems, APIs, and frontend interfaces; familiarity with TypeScript, React, and Node.js
• Proven track record in improving AI systems and creating evaluation sets
• Experience in mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and design teams
• Background in both rapidly scaling startups and larger tech environments
• Action-driven mindset with a strong user-centric approach and product intuition

Pay

$120,000 – $150,000 annually
