Software Engineer, Ads Platform
About the role
As a Software Engineer on the Ads Platform team, you will build foundational ads systems capable of reliably serving Roblox’s massive scale. You will drive performance improvements to our ads serving and delivery infrastructure while expanding our systems to support a variety of new and immersive ads experiences. Your scope will span across multiple teams and require close collaboration with engineers across ML, backend, and analytics to shape the future of ads infrastructure at Roblox.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship best-in-class Ads products used by hundreds of millions of users.
- Develop backend services that scale to billions of products and transactions.
- Dive deep into high-scale, complex backend performance challenges.
- Self-organize and take ownership of projects throughout their full lifecycle.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in software engineering (internships included), with a track record of delivering high-quality production code.
- Strong programming skills in at least one modern language (e.g., Go, C#, Java, Python, or C++).
- A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms, with an aptitude for debugging complex issues.
- A willingness to learn new technologies quickly, whether it's 3D engine, distributed systems patterns, or ad-tech concepts.
- A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
Pay
For roles based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay range is $153,120—$196,750 USD. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
Schedule
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
