Purpose and Impact

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Ft. Meade, MD. This role supports challenging, mission-critical projects that enhance national security and intelligence.

• Work independently on moderately complex projects, mentor junior developers, and contribute to technical decisions.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Works individually or collaboratively on software projects.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes appropriate software development and design methodologies.
• Provides input to system design including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, COTS/GOTS, and requirements analysis.
• Designs and implements features with minimal supervision.
• Collaborates with the test team, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Writes clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Optimizes application performance and scalability.
• Participates in code reviews and contributes to CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA).
• Experience with full-stack development, front-end development, relational databases (PostgreSQL), Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS.

Desired Skills

• Full stack developer experience.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Java, Spring Boot, Angular (or similar) experience.
• Experience with AWST.

Clearance Required

• TS/SCI with polygraph.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer engineering or related field.
• 9 years of Software Engineering experience (4 years of experience may substitute for degree).
• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• 2 years of work experience in SIGINT, IA, or IT domains.

Salary Range

• $150,000 - $170,000.
