Responsibilities

  • Lead the Clearpoint engineering team in building and delivering high-quality software within an agile environment, balancing scope, quality, and timeline across backend, front-end, and QA disciplines.
  • Plan, design, and oversee the implementation of full-stack solutions built on Python, Angular, and AWS-native services, layered on top of Solifi’s data platform.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, designers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical strategies and deliverables.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability in cloud-native environments, primarily on AWS (experience with Azure or GCP also valued).
  • Drive technical excellence by promoting modern engineering practices, including code reviews, test automation, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or GitHub Actions).
  • Coach and mentor engineers across Python, Angular, and QA automation roles—supporting their technical growth, career development, and overall effectiveness.
  • Identify and manage system dependencies, ensuring integration between front-end, backend, data platform, and QA automation is seamless and stable.
  • Champion continuous improvement in software quality, development processes, and team collaboration.
  • Partner with the SDETs on the team to define and uphold a strong quality strategy, including automated test coverage, quality KPIs, and CI integration.
  • Performance Management: Provide regular feedback, address performance challenges constructively, and guide engineers toward excellence.

  • Strong understanding of microservices, RESTful API design, and distributed systems.
  • Working understanding of relational databases and SQL, and how application services consume data from data lakes and warehouses.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps tooling (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices including source control, code reviews, testing, and deployment automation.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in delivering complex, enterprise-grade applications.
  • Experience leading teams that include dedicated QA automation engineers / SDETs and integrating their work into the development lifecycle.
  • Strong background in architecting and scaling systems for performance and reliability, particularly applications that sit on top of a data platform or data warehouse.
  • Experience in financial services, credit systems, risk management, or other mission-critical software domains.
  • Track record of successfully hiring, coaching, and retaining top engineering talent.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to executives, product owners, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in agile environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
