About the role

Expedia Group helps travelers explore the world through its consumer brands, B2B network, and travel advertising business. As a Software Development Engineer Intern in the 2027 Global Summer Internship Program, you will join an inclusive community, contribute to business‑critical projects, and gain hands‑on experience with web applications and e‑commerce sites that power over 140 branded travel sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software components and services under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
• Implement clean, maintainable code using standard software engineering practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and basic debugging.
• Participate in low‑level system design, API design, and data modeling for assigned tasks.
• Collaborate with peers, mentors, and cross‑functional partners to understand requirements, break down work, and deliver incremental value.
• Apply fundamental data structures, algorithms, and problem‑solving techniques to improve code quality, performance, and reliability.
• Leverage AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows, including safely integrating and operating AI/ML‑enabled solutions within defined guidance.

Requirements

• Must be available to commit to the full program dates: May 24th – July 30th or June 21st – August 27th.
• Must be graduating with an undergraduate or master’s degree in a technical subject (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) between December 2027 and July 2028.
• Must be willing to relocate to the city of the job location if outside commuting distance and be graduating from a university in the same country as the internship location.
• Must have no more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.
