Software Development Engineer, US ADC Security
About the role
AWS Security is seeking a driven professional to join the US ADC Security Engineering team to support the development of tools and automation for Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADCs) and Cleared Programs. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE), you'll own the development, operations, and overall health and security of the critical services we support, providing excellent customer service to our partners in a classified environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-availability distributed software with an emphasis on security, scalability, and fault tolerance
- Build and integrate custom APIs and middleware for security system integration
- Develop automation frameworks for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployment and configuration management
- Build monitoring and alerting systems to track the health and security of our services
- Implement secure communication and authentication between distributed systems
- Contribute to technical design reviews and security architecture discussions
- Write high-quality, maintainable code and perform peer code reviews
- Partner with internal customers to understand operational challenges and deliver solutions
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
Qualifications
- Experience in automation or monitoring frameworks, deployment or development
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience with infrastructure as code, ops automation, and configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
