About the role
Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) is a developer platform that enables developers to easily add voice capabilities to their apps, games, and devices. With ASK, developers can create Alexa-enabled skills that interact with users through voice commands. These skills can perform a variety of tasks, such as playing music, setting reminders, and controlling smart home devices.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software components across Labor Insights' ingestion, aggregation, reporting, and configuration layers — handling labor events, time clock punches, employee location tracking, and productivity report generation
- Build new services using AI-assisted development practices, leveraging tools like Amazon Q and Bedrock to achieve high-velocity delivery on greenfield systems
- Drive service consolidation and modernization — migrating from legacy infrastructure to Native AWS (NAWS) with full CI/CD pipelines
- Provide estimates for development tasks and negotiate timelines with project leaders
- Mentor junior team members and help them acquire critical skills and best practices
- Create reliable, scalable, and high-performance services requiring exceptional technical expertise
Requirements
Key job responsibilities include full-cycle ownership, designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl, and designing and implementing large-scale data processing solutions using DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, Lambda, and stream processing frameworks (Cosmos/Flink).
Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Skills
Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience, and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
USA, WA, Bellevue - 143,700.00 - 194,400.00 USD annually
